Lapis Lazuli (Lajward Stone)

Lapis Lazuli (Lajward) is a rock rather than a single mineral — lazurite with calcite and pyrite — so every piece is different. Golden pyrite flecks are natural and prized; white calcite patches lower the grade. Ours is undyed, so the colour and the calcite you see in the photographs are the stone's own. At Mohs 5 to 5.5 it is softer than most gemstones, so keep it away from chemicals, heat and ultrasonic cleaning. Each stone comes with a lab report from an ISO 9001:2015-certified laboratory.
