Iolite Stones (Neeli Stone)

Iolite (Neeli / Kaka Neeli) is the recognised upratna, or substitute, for Blue Sapphire — worn for Saturn (Shani) in Vedic astrology, usually on an astrologer's advice. Turn an Iolite in the light and it shifts between violet-blue, grey and pale blue. This strong pleochroism is characteristic of the stone, and it is why cutting matters more here than in most gems — the cutter decides which colour faces up. Iolite is untreated and hard enough at Mohs 7 to 7.5 for everyday rings. Each stone comes with a lab report from an ISO 9001:2015-certified laboratory.
