Natural African Blue Sapphire (Neelam) — 4.64 Carat (5.10 Ratti)
Photos: This SKU has a close-up, two side views, and an in-hand shot (there is no separate back photo in this set). Use all four to judge colour, clarity, crown height, and size.
This listing is a natural African blue sapphire (Neelam) of 4.64 carat (5.10 ratti), cut in an oval faceted style with a deep blue look face-up. Origin: African. Ratna Gems sells it as authentic corundum, Un-Heated & Un-Treated, with no glass filling for enhancement. Many blue sapphires sold through Bangkok-type channels are heat-treated for better colour; some low-grade stones in the trade also get filling or other tricks. This stone is offered for buyers who want that step up in natural quality — for fine jewellery or personal / traditional use.
Blue sapphire is blue corundum (Al2O3). It rates 9 on the Mohs scale, so it wears well in jewellery if the mount protects edges and corners. Typical R.I. is about 1.762–1.770 and specific gravity about 4.00. Trace iron and titanium give the blue colour. You may notice pleochroism (different shades when you tilt the stone) — often greenish-blue and violetish-blue in blue sapphire.
Inclusions: Natural sapphires can show fine rutile “silk,” small crystals, or colour bands. These are often only clear under magnification; the close-up photo is your best on-screen check.

Care
Wash with warm water, mild soap, and a soft brush, then rinse and dry. Skip ultrasonic cleaners if you see open cracks or you are not sure — stick to the brush method. Keep away from strong chemicals and very hot/cold shocks.
Setting ideas
This 4.64 carat oval looks good in white or yellow gold or silver-toned metal. Prongs show more of the stone; a bezel wraps the rim and helps protect the girdle (the thin outer edge) for everyday rings. The side photos help your jeweler plan seat height.
Tradition note
Some people wear Neelam for Saturn (Shani) reasons. That is personal belief, not something we promise. For birth-chart advice, speak to an astrologer you trust.
